The Ukrainian Universal Exchange has successfully transferred clearing functions to the Ukrainian Clearing House

The Ukrainian Universal Exchange (UUB) has transferred its clearing functions to the first professional licensed clearing institution in Ukraine for commodity markets – LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY «UKRAINIAN CLEARING HOUSE» (LLC «UCH»).

From now on, the opening and maintenance of clearing accounts, all operations with collateral, and accounting of rights and obligations under exchange transactions and exchange contracts are performed exclusively by LLC «UCH».

‘The completion of this integration has become a landmark event for the Ukrainian commodity market. This is the first step towards a large-scale transformation of the market infrastructure and an increase in the reliability and transparency of exchange operations. We welcome the desire of the participants to improve and, for our part, promote the implementation of the best international practices for market operations,’ said Ruslan Magomedov, Chairman of the NSSMC.

It should be noted that the transition to the new clearing model was successful: internal documents and operational processes of the Exchange and the Clearing House were aligned, and the trading system of UUB was fully integrated with the clearing system of LLC «UCH». The changes also went smoothly for exchange trading participants, with legal procedures completed promptly. And in January 2025, the first exchange transactions involving a clearing institution were concluded.

We would like to add that the Exchange also transferred to LLC «UCH» the rights and obligations under the forwards concluded at the end of 2024 in the raw wood and lumber segment.
