Employees of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission of Ukraine participated in a series of training webinars delivered by the Ontario Securities Commission (Canada).<\/p>\n
During the sessions, participants learned how the regulator structures its work with investors \u2014 from explaining basic financial concepts to responding to violations. In particular, the webinars covered how to present complex information in a simple way, build communication through digital channels, and engage a wide audience in financial literacy topics.<\/p>\n
Special attention was given to handling investor inquiries. These are used as one of the key tools for identifying market issues \u2014 including fraudulent schemes and unfair practices \u2014 and enabling further regulatory response.<\/p>\n
Participants were also introduced to approaches for warning investors, including the practice of issuing public alerts regarding high-risk companies, as well as tools that help investors independently verify market participants before investing.
\nA separate part of the webinars focused on enforcement. Participants learned how cases are selected for investigation, which digital tools are used, and the important role whistleblowers play in protecting capital markets.<\/p>\n
Participation in the webinars provided practical insights that can be applied to strengthen investor protection and promote financial literacy in Ukraine.
