Commission established a Corporate Governance Council

The National Securities and Stock Market Commission established the Advisory Coordination Council on Corporate Governance. This body will help align Ukrainian legislation with EU standards and implement global best practices.

The Council will serve as an independent forum where Ukrainian and international experts will discuss reforms and analyze the state of corporate governance in Ukraine. They will also provide advice on how to improve regulation. Their decisions will be advisory in nature.

This new body includes representatives from the EBRD, the World Bank, the International Finance Corporation, the IMF, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), regulators from Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, and Israel, as well as experts from King’s College London and leading consulting firms.

The Ukrainian team includes lawyers, entrepreneurs, members of relevant professional associations, and representatives of the academic community. NSSMC Commissioner Maksym Libanov was appointed Chair of the Council.
