NSSMC and MinEconomy discussed the development of an organized market for solid biofuels and exchange infrastructure

Chairman of the NSSMC, Oleksii Semeniuk, held a meeting with Minister of Economy of Ukraine Oleksii Sobolev. Commissioner Arsen Ilin and Deputy Ministers of Economy Daria Marchak and Yegor Perelygin were also participating. Oleksii Semenyuk reported on this on his Telegram channel.

The sides discussed decisions that could result in a measurable effect on the economy.

“Given the situation with natural gas and the relevant infrastructure, it is strategically important to look at all available energy resources, including solid biofuel. If a transparent exchange-based pricing is introduced and the price is decoupled from the PSO (Regulations on placing special duties on the natural gas market participants), solid biofuel could become a competitive and economically attractive alternative for communities and businesses, especially those with their own raw material base,” said the Chairman of the NSSMC.

He stressed that the key task is to create a transparent, organized market with fair competition and transparent price setting.

“Exchange trading provides precisely that: transparency, liquidity, and a level playing field,” wrote Oleksii Semeniuk.

Separately, during the meeting, the establishment of an exchange holding company was discussed. The sides touched upon issues related to the development of municipal bonds and the regulation of virtual assets.

“So, moving forward to ensure that capital markets function as a real instrument of economic stability in the country,” concluded the Chairman of the NSSMC.
