On August 26, the first meeting was held between the NSSMC team and representatives of the project “Further Approximation of the Regulatory Framework to European Union Legislation and International Standards in Financial Markets in Ukraine” (FINMAR), which is being implemented with the support of the EU.

The aim of the project is to improve the Ukrainian financial market regulation system in line with EU legislation and best international practices. During the meeting, the parties agreed on the first steps and agreed to jointly develop a plan for the project’s implementation.

In particular, Chairman of the NSSMC Ruslan Magomedov outlined the main guidelines and expectations for the project’s implementation, emphasizing the importance of high-quality and coordinated interaction between all participants in the process. He expressed confidence that joint efforts would yield successful results that would be of practical significance for future development.

For her part, Yelyzaveta Revilo, Director of the Strategic Development Department, outlined the priority areas for the NSSMC, namely: legislation on investment funds, non-state pension funds, and regulatory acts on the activities of rating agencies in Ukraine.

The project was launched on August 18, 2025, and will last for three years, until mid-August 2028. The main beneficiaries are the NSSMC and the NBU.

The implementation of this initiative will contribute to increasing the reliability and transparency of Ukraine’s financial market, as well as create better conditions for investor protection and the development of our country’s economy.

The Commission expresses its sincere gratitude to EU partners for supporting Ukraine’s development, in particular for helping it to align with EU standards on financial market regulation.
