The NSSMC and the EBRD discussed further steps of cooperation in the field of regulatory development

An online meeting was held between representatives of the NSSMC and experts from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The sides discussed current activities of the Commission and prospects for further cooperation.

Ruslan Magomedov, Chairman of the NSSMC, emphasized the importance of strengthening international cooperation to jointly implement reforms and develop the financial sector in line with EU practices.

Special attention was paid to institutional development, strengthening the Regulator’s independence, implementing the IOSCO principles, and harmonizing national legislation with EU law.

Mykhailo Yanchuk, Head of the NSSMC Office, emphasized the importance of implementing about 700 acts of EU law within the framework of negotiation Chapeters “Corporate Law”, “Financial Services”, etc. in accordance with the results of the official screening. To achieve this, the Commission has initiated discussions on the establishment of a Project Office in partnership with international donors to support the EU integration process.

“We are committed to developing a constructive dialog with our international partners. We are convinced that our joint efforts will contribute to the implementation of strategic reforms and further integration of Ukraine into the EU and global financial space,” said Mykhailo Yanchuk.

The NSSMC highly appreciates the partnership with the EBRD and views this meeting as an important step on the way of deepening cooperation in key areas of regulatory policy.
