The NSSMC will participate in the workshop on innovations in corporate governance

On September 22, 2021, Maksym Libanov, the Commissioner, and Alla Papaika, Director of the Securities Issues Registration Department of the NSSMC, will participate in the workshop «The New Law of Ukraine On Capital Markets and Organized Commodity Markets: What’s New in Corporate Governance».

The organizer is the Corporate Governance Professional Association (CGPA).

On July 1, 2021, the Law of Ukraine On Capital Markets and Organized Commodity Markets entered into force, replacing the Law of Ukraine On Securities and Stock Market, and amended the Civil Code, the Commercial Code, the Criminal Code, and the Code of Ukraine on Bankruptcy Procedures and a number of other legislative acts accordingly.

The new legislation has changed significantly not only the terms, but also the requirements to market participants and the powers of the regulator – the National Securities and Stock Market Commission.

It is planned that the participants of the workshop will discuss the following issues:
– development of the legislation in the field of corporate governance; improvement of the NSSMC’s regulatory framework in connection with the entry into force of the Law of Ukraine №738-IX dated 19.06.2020;
– innovations in regulating the activities of the governance bodies of a joint-stock company (general meeting of shareholders, supervisory board);
– issuance activity in a new way;
– special aspects of information disclosure on capital markets via an information agent;
– disclosure of the regulated information in accordance with the requirements of the new Law.
