On 24-25 June, Warsaw hosted an OSCE international summit “The Next Front Line: Tackling Emerging Challenges in the Virtual Assets Space,” which brought together representatives of financial regulators and financial intelligence agencies from Ukraine, Moldova, Armenia, and Georgia, as well as OSCE experts to discuss security in digital asset markets.

Among the representatives of Ukraine, at the summit were present Commission experts Vita Forsiuk, NSSMC Legal Advisor, and Yelizaveta Revilo, Director of the Strategic Development Department.

Participants discussed current challenges related to the dynamic development of virtual assets and outlined common approaches to strengthening financial security and combating money laundering.

Key discussion topics of the summit included:
– development of regulatory strategies and international cooperation in virtual asset market supervision;
– implementation of the FATF standards;
– current threats related to DeFi solutions, anonymous transactions, and stablecoins;
– investigation of financial crimes involving digital assets.

Such knowledge is of particular importance since our country is currently at a crucial stage of developing a legislative framework for the virtual asset market. One of the Commission’s key tasks is to introduce effective regulation that will enable businesses to grow.

We would like to thank our partners and the event hosts for the opportunity to participate in a professional dialogue and an exchange of valuable experience. We keep working together to develop a transparent, secure, and modern financial system.
