Pension funds have begun to invest in foreign securities

Ukrainian private pension funds begun to invest their savings in securities of foreign companies that have been admitted to circulation by the NSSMC (National Securities and Stock Market Commission) in Ukraine.

Portfolios of private pension funds and mutual funds included securities of the world’s largest technology companies, such as Apple, Microsoft, Tesla and one of the most famous index funds – the Vanguard 500 Index Fund and Invesco QQQ Trust SM.

Due to the admission to the Ukrainian capital market of securities of foreign issuers, the Commission expands the list of financial instruments that are already becoming interesting for investing pension assets.

“Now we see quite small volumes of this tool on the market. However, the fact that it arouses interest and is beginning to be used is a positive result for all. We are confident that this is just the beginning and in future this tool will take its rightful place in the portfolios of most Ukrainian investors”, Ruslan Mahomedov, Chairman of the NSSMC, said.
