The Settlement Center received a license for currency clearing

The Settlement Center (PJSC “Settlement Center for servicing contracts on financial markets”) received a license from the National Bank of Ukraine to carry out currency operations.

The issued license entitles the institution to carry out settlements on currency transactions on the terms of “swap” and settlements in foreign currency for transactions on bonds of the domestic state loan of Ukraine denominated in foreign currency, as well as other currency transactions necessary for carrying out/ensuring such settlements within the clearing activities of the central counterparty.

The permission to carry out currency clearing will provide an opportunity for market participants to increase the volume of transactions with government bonds denominated in foreign currency. This will have a positive effect on attracting funds into the state economy, which is an urgent need in wartime conditions.

The start of currency clearing operations on government bonds is scheduled for July 26, 2022. It is from this date that amendments to the internal documents of the Settlement Center, which allow this type of services, enter into force.
