08 May — Remembrance Day and Victory Day over Nazism in World War II

Today, Ukraine joins the nations of Europe and the world in honoring the memory of all those who fought against Nazism, as well as the millions of victims of World War II.

This is a day to remember the millions of people whose lives were taken by the bloodiest war of the 20th century. A day that reminds us just how fragile peace, security, and freedom are.

This date holds special significance for Ukraine, as Ukrainians are once again forced to defend their country, their right to independence, and their own future.

We remember the lessons of the past and the price humanity paid for the victory over Nazism. That is why we continue to fight for freedom, dignity, and a just peace.
