The National Securities and Stock Market Commission continues its series of meetings with Ukrainian businesses. This time, NSSMC Chairman Oleksii Semeniuk met with representatives of the financial company Activitis. For the Commission, such meetings provide an opportunity to receive direct feedback from companies, identify practical barriers to raising capital, and understand which changes the market needs.

“The state can create rules, infrastructure, and tools, but a fully-fledged capital market cannot be built without the active participation of the business community itself. We need companies that are ready to enter the market, raise funds through securities, use new instruments, and tell us where the rules work and where they create unnecessary obstacles. That is precisely why constant, direct dialogue with the business community is so important to us,” — emphasized Oleksii Semeniuk, Chairman of the NSSMC.

One of the key topics discussed at these meetings is the practical experience of companies that are already using capital market instruments. It allows the Commission to analyze the entire process for issuers: from preparing documents and registering an issue to attracting investors.

The NSSMC set up a working group involving market participants and analyzed the regulatory requirements governing securities issues. Based on the results of this work, the Commission is preparing amendments to eliminate unnecessary bureaucratic procedures and make the processes clearer, faster, and more predictable for market participants.

“Feedback on specific cases is particularly important to us. If a business encounters a problem, we need to look not only at the individual case but at the procedure itself. Our goal is to build a system in which clear rules apply equally to everyone,” said Oleksii Semeniuk.

Activitis has experience raising funds through corporate bonds. This company conducted a public offering worth UAH 300 million and is currently preparing a new issue worth up to UAH 2 billion. During the meeting, its representatives shared their experience with the registration process and highlighted issues that, in their opinion, require simplification or clearer regulation.

Additionally, the representatives of Activitis discussed their work with micro, small, and medium-sized businesses. The company develops fintech solutions for the financing of contracts, particularly in the agricultural sector, and works with entrepreneurs who may find it more difficult to access traditional bank financing.

The series of direct meetings between the NSSMC and the business community has a practical goal: to listen to the needs of currently active and potential issuers, identify regulatory barriers, and encourage more Ukrainian companies to use the capital market as a source of financing.

The Commission will continue its dialogue with companies from various economic sectors to ensure that changes made to the market are based not only on regulatory decisions but also on the practical experience of those who raise capital and make investments.
