A bilateral meeting between Ukraine and the European Commission took place in Brussels on the compliance of Ukrainian legislation with EU law under Title 6 Corporate Law within Cluster 2 Internal Market. Prior to the meeting, the NSSMC participated in a simulation session with government agencies and international experts to prepare for the meeting.
Maksym Libanov, Commissioner, took part in the event, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Finance, the Government Office for Coordination of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, and others.
Key issues discussed at the meeting included
• mergers and divisions of public joint stock companies in the domestic market;
• cross-border merger, division and transformation procedures for LLCs;
• application of digital tools in corporate law;
• shareholder rights and corporate governance;
• anti-corruption measures in the field of corporate law, etc.
Such bilateral meetings between the representatives of Ukraine and the European Commission are an important stage in the negotiation process on Ukraine’s accession to the EU and confirm our country’s course towards integration into the European market.
