NSSMC top management held a meeting with representatives of the EU Delegation to Ukraine and from the European Commission

The areas of activity of the Commission and prospects for further cooperation were key topics of discussion during a meeting between Chairman of the NSSMC Ruslan Magomedov and representatives of the EU Delegation to Ukraine led by Henrik Huitfeldt. In particular, the participants discussed the implementation of the Ukraine Facility in terms of strengthening the Commission’s capacity for state regulation and supervision.

The focus of the discussion rested on the institutional changes in the Commission following the entry into force of the Law No. 3585-IX and technical assistance in harmonizing Ukrainian financial market legislation with EU standards and international practices.

The Ukrainian side was also represented by Commissioner Maxym Libanov, Head of NSSMC Office Mykhailo Yanchuk and his deputies Mykhailo Latynskyi and Maksym Rivtin, as well as experts from line departments of the Office.

Among other things, the Commission team informed the visitors about applications submitted for accession to the Multilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MMoU) and the Extended MMoU of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO). This step, together with close cooperation with other international partners, will allow the Commission to improve market oversight and increase the level of investor protection.

Following the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to work together on joint projects to align Ukrainian legislation with EU law.
