The National Securities and Stock Market Commission participated in a meeting of the Interagency Working Group on European Integration.
The meeting was attended by more than 30 representatives of the European Union delegation, including members of the EU Council’s Working Party on Enlargement (COELA) and the Working Party on Eastern Europe and Central Asia (COEST), as well as delegates from EU member states, the European Commission, and the European External Action Service.
The event was hosted by Taras Kachka, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration.
The EU representatives were most interested in the current status of anti-corruption reform in Ukraine; they are also awaiting the adoption of an anti-corruption strategy.
The Ukrainian delegation included about 40 representatives of government agencies, including NSSMC Commissioner Maksym Libanov.
They outlined what they had already done to bring Ukraine closer to EU standards and what they planned to do by the end of the year, including meeting specific benchmarks set during the negotiation process.
Please note that as of mid-April, the Commission reported that it needed to bring 187 regulatory legal acts into line with EU standards and draft 22 laws in the field of capital markets.
