The National Securities and Stock Market Commission (NSSMC) is committed to protecting the rights and interests of investors, and the development of international partnerships and the exchange of experience with colleagues is an important part of this process. Therefore, last week, the NSSMC held an online meeting with BaFin (the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority).

Iraklii Baramiia, a member of the NSSMC, said: «I am pleased to cooperate with BaFin in preventing fraud and abuse in the capital markets. We have familiarized ourselves with the general approaches and expertise of our German colleagues in the fight against financial fraud and shared our own experience on this issue in the Ukrainian market. I am confident that our communication and cooperation will have effective results for the protection of investors’ rights».

We also traditionally inform about updates to the list of unreliable investment projects and draw investors’ attention to it. This time, the NSSMC has identified 12 more cases:

We remind potential investors once again of the significant risks associated with investing:

  • through persons whose activities in Ukraine are not regulated in any way,
  • persons providing false information about licensed and allegedly official activities in countries with developed financial markets.

A full list of projects is available on the NSSMC’s official website in the Investors` Protection section. In the absence of information about a particular questionable project in this section, potential investors, guided by the «10 signs of doubtfulness of an investment project», can analyze it for doubtfulness on their own or send a request to the NSSMC at [email protected].
