The NSSMC updated the data in the System of Directories and Classifiers

The NSSMC (National Securities and Stock Market Commission) has made changes to its own System of Directories and Classifiers. These changes entered into force on February 4, 2021. The purpose of this is to ensure that the information in the Directories complies with the updated capital markets legislation and reflects current processes.

“Such a decision usually remains invisible to the general public, because it does not fundamentally affect the market share and does not change its infrastructure. However, it is important for the daily work of professional market participants, as it helps us to structure information and unify the form of data transfer,” Yurii Boiko, the Commissioner, said.

The previous changes in the System of Directories and Classifiers of the NSSMC were made in 2018. Since then, significant changes have occurred in the stock market, which required reflection in the NSSMC information system. Firstly, a new version of the Law on Capital Markets and Organized Commodity Exchanges came into force. Secondly, the NSSMC introduced new instruments, including the allowing of the foreign issuers’ securities circulation on the territory of Ukraine. In view of this and taking into account the need for transformation and further development of the stock market, the NSSMC expanded the Directories with new information.

It should be noted that the Directories System of the NSSMC is mandatory for use by the participants of the capital markets and organized commodity markets, authorized by the rating agencies and the National Bank of Ukraine in compiling and submitting of the regulated information in capital markets and organized commodity markets, the reporting data and other information to the NSSMC.

The NSSMC draws the attention of market participants to the updated information in the System of Directories and Classifiers and urges them to learn and use it in its activities.
