The NSSMC and IFC will organize a roundtable discussion on green bonds

The NSSMC (the National Securities and Stock Market Commission) with the assistance of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) will conduct a round table discussion on “Green bonds – new opportunities for financing of the environmental projects in Ukraine”.

The event will be held on November 24, 2021 in online mode.  

There will be discussed the NSSMC’s plans for the development of the green bond market in Ukraine, namely the draft regulatory acts, the international experience in the development of such instrument, and the regulator will provide recommendations on the issuance of green bonds at the roundtable meeting. 

Among the experts will be Maksym Libanov, the Commissioner of the NSSMC, Alla Papaika, the Corporate Governance and Finance Director of the NSSMC, IFC specialists. Ruslan Magomedov, the Chairman of the NSSMC, will make a welcome speech. 

The event may appeal to the banks and financial institutions, the private sector enterprises, the government and municipalities, scientists and the media.

It will be recalled that in order to develop of the green bonds market, in July this year the NSSMC approved the Recommendations on the implementation or financing of environmental projects by issuing green bonds. The Recommendations are based on the best world practice of Green Bonds, take into account environmental, social and management criteria, as well as sustainable development criteria.
