Discussion of the Draft Corporate Governance Code of Ukraine – 10th Advisory Group Meeting

The National securities and stock market commission, IFC Europe & Central Asia and Ukrainian Corporate Governance Academy started the creation of the Corporate Governance Code of Ukraine.

It is a joint project of UCGA, NSSMC and IFC to support the ongoing corporate governance reform of listed and unlisted companies in Ukraine by reviewing the existing National Principles of Corporate Governance, approved by NSSMC on July 22, 2014 (the Principles).

The overall goal of improving governance practices in listed and unlisted companies of Ukraine calls for the need to a significant update of the Principles. That includes a review according to Corporate Governance Principles G20/OECD of 2015 and other global trends and updates, but also essential revision of the structure, vocabulary, its practical effect and the general spirit of the Principles.

Mr. Richard Frederick, globally renowed governance and policy making expert, is the main author. The Code is to be created by an Advisory Group of experts in corporate governance both international and local, formed jointly by UCGA, NSSMC and IFC.
