The unprocessed timber stock market is proving its efficiency

The results of the first months after the entry into force of changes to the legislation, which established the new high standards for trade in unprocessed timber on commodity exchanges, indicate the active formation of the transparent market mechanisms and set the direction of stable work.

Today, the unprocessed timber is traded on the Ukrainian Energy Exchange, where since the beginning of August there have been about half a thousand trades. During the period from 01.08.2021 to 30.09.2021 1.37 million cubic meters were sold in the amount of 4.01 billion UAH including VAT.

According to the results of three months of market functioning under the new rules, the state received an additional income of 927.5 million UAH (including VAT) more relative to the original cost of the unprocessed timber.

The negative practices in the work of the electronic platforms in the organized market are no longer possible today. The careful oversight by the National Securities and Stock Market Commission, as well as by the State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine, is a guarantee of the transparent and objective pricing and access to the information.
