The transparency and quality of processes: the new SMIDA Collegium

The National Securities and Stock Market Commission (hereinafter – the NSSMC) updated the Collegium’s membership of the Stock Market Infrastructure Development Agency of Ukraine (hereinafter – the SMIDA).

The Collegium membership from the NSSMC currently consists of:

– Yurii Boiko, the Commissioner of the NSSMC, – the Chairman of the Collegium;

– Yurii Shapoval, the Commissioner of the NSSMC, – a member of the Collegium;

– Andrii Zaika, the Director of IT Department, – a member of the Collegium.

 “In the nearest future, the NSSMC plans to create an IT hub, which platform should be the SMIDA. We are up to integrate the existing IT systems into a single comprehensive system that will allow the Regulator and market participants to operate with the information in a qualitative manner. The information disclosure, the electronic access to the administrative services, the development of the trade repository, etc. – these services will be technologically improved and simplified in many regulated bureaucratic processes”, – noticed Yurii Boiko.

The SMIDA has ambitious plans and goals to promote the E-services and improve its quality, to enhance a comprehensive information security system, to develop infrastructure for market information disclosure, etc. The renewed team of the Collegium will assist the Agency in this regard.

The governing bodies of the SMIDA are the Collegium and the Director.

The powers of the Collegium include:

– approval of the Agency’s annual programme of activities;

– agreement of financial plans;

– agreement of tariffs for the formation of services and operations;

– approval of staffing table, employee payroll fund, etc.
